Blackjack is a 1998 action thriller film directed by John Woo and starring Dolph Lundgren, Kate Vernon, and Phillip MacKenzie. The film follows the story of Jack Devlin (Dolph Lundgren), an ex-cop turned security expert, who is tasked with transporting a valuable asset for his former employer. However, things quickly spiral out of control as Devlin finds himself caught in the crosshairs of a dangerous heist.

The film opens with Devlin being released from prison after serving a sentence for a crime he didn't commit. He returns to his job as a security consultant for the same firm he used to work for, run by his old boss Thomas (Fred Williamson). Devlin is immediately given a new assignment: transport a briefcase containing a high-tech computer chip, known as the "blackjack," from Hong Kong to Los Angeles.

Devlin initially believes this to be a simple task, but his suspicions are aroused when he discovers that the chip is being coveted by a number of interested parties, including a group of ruthless criminals, led by Dolores (Kate Vernon). Meanwhile, Devlin must also navigate his complicated relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Rachel Stein (Phillip MacKenzie), who is now married to Thomas.

As Devlin races to deliver the chip safely, he finds himself battling Dolores' team of skilled operatives in a series of tense and violent action sequences. The stakes are raised even higher when it is revealed that the chip contains sensitive government secrets that could have serious international ramifications.

Despite his tough macho exterior, Devlin is not invincible, and he is forced to put his trust in his allies, including Rachel and a hacker named Cinder James (Kam Heskin). Along the way, Devlin must confront his own demons and personal struggles, which threaten to jeopardize his mission.

Overall, Blackjack is a fast-paced, entertaining action film with solid performances from its cast, particularly Lundgren, who delivers a convincing performance as the grizzled protagonist. Director John Woo infuses the film with his signature blend of stylized violence and kinetic energy, resulting in a memorable and thrilling ride for viewers.

Blackjack is a 1998 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.8.
