Boy is a romantic drama that was written by Jimmy Flores and Arturo Calo. Directed by Auraeus Solito, the movie features Aeious Asin, Belinda and Aries Pena. The story follows a young man (played by Aeious Asin) who innocently finds himself inside a gay nightclub one Sunday evening. Except for a floor manager and some transvestite performers, the place is virtually empty. There is also a group of macho dancers who appear to be entertaining themselves. The boy is not accustomed to this environment and finds himself in need of mentorship by the floor manager who is more than willing to accommodate him. During a love song, an eighteen year old dancer whose stage name is Aries (played by Aries Pena) dances seductively in his underwear on stage. The boy become transfixed with and very attracted to him. Aries takes this cue and immediately begins dancing directly in front of the boy, explaining that he does it since he loves all of the attention he receives while performing. Quickly, the boy learns that Aries dances out of necessity. He comes from the slums of the city and does it to get by. This fuels the boy’s emotions, believing he could have a bonafide relationship with Aries. The boy's mother (played by Madeleine Nicolas) is a loving woman who is understanding about her son's homosexuality. His father, however, seems to have no time for either of them. Aries' father (played by Noni Buencamino) tolerates his son’s sexuality, but is still challenged by being a father figure while enduring unending financial hardship. When the boy and Aries spend intimate time together, he discusses how his collection of aquariums accommodates the natural ecosystem of the fish. The attraction between the two is amplified by the poetry that the boy recites.
