In this live-action adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, we follow the story of a young girl named Ella, played by Lily James. After her father unexpectedly passes away, Ella is left with her cruel stepmother, Lady Tremaine, played by Cate Blanchett, and her two stepsisters. Forced to live in her own home as a servant to her stepfamily, Ella dreams of a better life outside of the walls of her house.

One day, while out riding in the forest, Ella meets the charming Prince Kit, played by Richard Madden. Despite their brief encounter, the two feel an instant connection. However, Ella must return home to her stepfamily, leaving her dreams of a better life behind.

Determined to meet the beautiful girl he encountered in the forest, Prince Kit invites all the eligible maidens in the kingdom to a grand ball. Although Ella's stepfamily tries to thwart her dreams of attending the ball, with the help of her Fairy Godmother, played by Helena Bonham Carter, Ella is transformed into a vision of beauty and is able to attend the ball.

At the ball, Ella and Prince Kit are reunited, but their magical night is cut short when the clock strikes midnight, causing Ella to flee the ball, leaving only a glass slipper behind. The Prince, determined to find the girl who stole his heart, travels throughout the kingdom searching for the owner of the glass slipper.

Throughout the movie, we see the battle between good and evil as Lady Tremaine tries to destroy Ella's hopes and dreams, while Ella's kindness and love for those around her remain unbroken.
