Circus is a crime thriller film from Britain. Written by David Logan, the movie was directed by Rob Walker and features Famke Janssen, John Hannah, Peter Stormare, Eddie Izzard and Brian Conley. The story follows Leo (played by John Hannah) and Lily (played by Famke Janssen), an artist couple. They plan to leave the rat race to settle some place far away, deciding to leave within a week. Bruno (played by Brian Conley) has a casino where he is losing money. While he says he wants Leo to operate it - the reality is that he despises Leo and wishes to get rid of him. Making Leo’s life more complicated is Julius (played by Peter Stormare) who wants him to murder Gloria, his wife. However, Julius admits that he has no wife and paid a woman to pretend. Julius has a tape showing that Leo murdered the woman. Then he blackmails Leo for 500,000 pounds or he will send the tape to the police. Leo also owes a loan shark named Troy a lot of money from gambling at the track. Then he learns that Lily has been running a con on him. With all that is happening, it doesn't seem like Leo will even survive the week, let alone be able to start a new life somewhere. Bruno devises a scheme to start a con on Lily by signing over his shipping company to her and taking around $20 million for himself. But Leo has already gotten to Julius to get his own con going, through Gloria’s murder. Leo takes blackmail money to Julius, but there are thugs waiting. A massacre ensues and Julius lets Bruno know the whole story. Leo is not really dead and figured out that Lily was conning him. He lets Lily find the murder recording so she will give it to Bruno. They go to find Julius just as he is leaving town. Just then, Leo arrives, threatening to murder Bruno.
