D-Day the Sixth of June is romance movie that was released in 1956. The movie stars Robert Taylor and Dana Wynter and is based on Lionel Shapiro's novel The Sixth of June. The movie is set around the events of D-Day during World War II. Taylor plays a military captain who is a parachute jumper. While recovering at the hospital, he meets and falls in love with a nurse, played by Wynter. The nurse doesn't know that the captain is in love with her, but she is in love with another captain. Towards the end of the movie, the nurse and the captain embrace one another when tragedy occurs. D-Day the Sixth of June is a classic film that shows that in war, love can emerge.
