D2: The Mighty Ducks
- 1 hr 46 min
D2: The Mighty Ducks is the second in a trilogy of movies about a young hockey team coming together to win. The team had consistently lost all of their games before, but once they got a new coach and started working hard together, everything changed. Now, the kids are older, yet still playing hockey. Their coach is asked to lead Team USA in the Junior Goodwill Games. The Duck players are joined by several new players to make up the team. The coach is happy, but the players are not. They don't like their new team name, and the new jerseys that come with it. Team USA seems to be doing great and winning all of their games, despite the fact that their coach has been doing little to motivate them and them wanting to be Ducks still. Then, Team Iceland destroys them in a game, putting their winning steak to an end. They then lose the next several games they play in. They soon realize that if they want to make it to the finals, they need to do something drastic. When one of their players hurts his wrist, he is taken out of the game and replaced by a kid from the street who has a unique puck style. They hope his knucklepuck will give them an advantage. When Coach Bombay is visited by an old mentor's brother, he is reminded why he came to love hockey so much. It's not about winning, being famous, or anything trivial, it's about loving the game and just wanting to play. Bombay then surprises his players with new jerseys, those of the Ducks, and they no longer have to wear the Team USA ones they were forced to take. With the new jerseys, the old spirit of the Ducks is back, and they'll do anything to play together and come out on top. They rematch against Iceland, winning, proving to themselves that they could do it if only they stuck together and worked hard like the Mighty Ducks they were.
