Death Ranch is a horror-thriller movie from 2020 directed by Charlie Steeds. Set in the 1970s, the film follows three African-American siblings - Clarence (Deiondre Teagle), Kanzo (Travis Cutner), and Angela (Faith McCoy) - as they try to escape from a white supremacist group after a traffic stop goes awry. The movie starts with a powerful opening scene showcasing the horror of racial violence in America's past. We see a group of white men in a car chase a black man on foot through a dark forest, ending in a brutal lynching. This foreshadows the danger the siblings will face as they travel through rural Georgia, where racial tensions and violence are high.

The siblings are on a road trip to visit their mother, who lives in another state. While driving through Georgia, they are pulled over by a racist police officer who harasses them and eventually shoots Clarence. They flee and find an abandoned ranch where they take refuge, thinking they will be safe. However, they later realize that the ranch is the headquarters of a white supremacist group.

The ranch is run by a sadistic couple, Dwayne (Travis Hammer) and Edwina (Anita Farmer Bergman). They lead the group of white supremacists and believe in the superiority of the white race. They capture and torture people who they believe don't belong in their society.

As night falls, the three siblings are trapped in the ranch, trying to find a way out before they are caught by the white supremacists who are searching for them. The plot thickens as the siblings discover more about the ranch, its history and secrets, and the gruesome and violent practices carried out by the white supremacists.

Death Ranch is not just a movie about prejudice and racism, but it is also a survival fight for the young siblings. The movie explores themes of resilience, family, and the fear of oppression. During the siblings' escape from the ranch, they encounter other people who have also been targeted by the white supremacists.

The movie has a vintage look to it, with grainy cinematography, which adds to the overall vibe of the film. The director replicates the atmosphere of the 1970s successfully. The soundtrack is haunting and terrifying, emphasizing the intensity of the movie's most fearful moments.

Deiondre Teagle, Travis Cutner, and Faith McCoy, who play the siblings, deliver great performances, especially considering that two of them are making their acting debut. They have really good chemistry, and their on-screen presence makes the audience root for them to survive.

Travis Hammer and Anita Farmer Bergman who play Dwayne and Edwina also give chilling performances. They embody the white supremacist couple and their violent tendencies. They show the audience how far bigotry can go and how powerless its victims can be.

Overall, Death Ranch is a tense and suspenseful thriller that will keep you at the edge of your seat. Steeds paints a harrowing picture of racism and hatred in America's past and present. Although it is not for the faint-hearted, the movie is a good watch for those who enjoy suspense and horror films. It is an excellent depiction of the horror one can face when trapped with no escape except to rely on one's wits and courage.

Death Ranch is a 2021 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 17 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.8.
