Franklin, giving Susan only 48 hours to impress him, visits the facility over a weekend. Running on a skeleton staff because of the weekend, Susan, Carter Blake (Thomas Jane) and the rest of the crew jump in to show Franklin their progress. He's impressed with their developments. However, the experiments have made the sharks increasingly smarter (and mega dangerous). A storm sets in and the sharks decide to set out. Methodically, they begin to bring down the research lab, until most of it (and its residents) are underwater.
The sharks aren't just looking to get out, they're looking for revenge and Dr. McAllister has given them just the weapon to destroy them all. The group is in a fight for their lives as the sharks have trapped and stranded them in the middle of nowhere.
Director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Long Kiss Goodnight, Die Hard 2) delivers in this in this film. The movie is a fast-paced, nonstop action flick and you find out quickly that none of the characters are safe. LL Cool J (and his bird) steals the show, and delivers a great performance as Preacher, the chef. Jane is nice to look at, and performs well as the hero in the movie. Other cast members include Stellan Skarsgard, Michael Rappaport and Jacqueline McKenzie.
