Skiptrace is a 2016 action comedy film starring Jackie Chan, Johnny Knoxville, and Bingbing Fan. The movie was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Jay Longino, BenDavid Grabinski, and Wen-Chia Chang. The story follows Bennie Chan (Jackie Chan), a Hong Kong detective who has been trying to capture a notorious criminal named Victor Wong (Winston Chao) for years. When Bennie's goddaughter Samantha (Fan Bingbing) gets into trouble with Wong, Bennie must team up with an American gambler named Connor Watts (Johnny Knoxville) to help find her and bring Wong to justice.

The movie is set in both Hong Kong and China, which adds to the visual grandeur of its backdrop. Chan's signature martial arts sequences are present throughout the movie, but the comedy element is also strongly emphasized, making it an enjoyable and entertaining film for all audiences.

Chan's character, Bennie, is determined and dedicated to his work. He is assisted in his quest by his partner Yung (Eric Tsang) and the computer savvy hacker Leslie (Eve Torres Gracie). Bennie's search takes him to Macau, where he crosses paths with Connor, who is on the run from loan sharks.

Connor is reluctant to team up with Bennie, but eventually agrees when he realizes that his own life is in danger. Their pursuit eventually leads them to Mongolia, where they face a series of obstacles, including the treacherous Gobi Desert and a pack of hungry wolves. Along the way, they also encounter various forms of danger and obstacles, including the Chinese mafia, corrupt law enforcement officers, and even a dragon dance troupe.

Johnny Knoxville's character, Connor, adds a surprising element of humor to the movie. He plays a brash and arrogant American who loves to gamble and has a knack for getting into trouble. His character often finds himself in situations that are both dangerous and hilarious, such as being trapped in a shipping container on a cargo ship or getting caught in a stampede of cows.

Bingbing Fan's performance as Samantha is impressive, as she brings a strong female presence to the film. She is smart, resourceful, and independent, never letting herself become a damsel in distress. Her character adds an emotional depth to the story, as she has a close relationship with Bennie, who regards her as his own daughter.

The movie is not without its flaws, however. Some viewers may find the plot to be predictable and formulaic, and there are a few scenes that feel unnecessary or forced. The film also occasionally relies too heavily on slapstick humor and over-the-top action sequences, which can be jarring at times.

That being said, Skiptrace is still an enjoyable and entertaining movie thanks to its cast of talented actors, stunning visuals, and a strong balance of action, comedy, and drama. It is a must-watch film for fans of Jackie Chan, Johnny Knoxville, and anyone who loves a good action comedy.

Skiptrace is a 2016 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.6 and a MetaScore of 50.
