Diary of a Chambermaid is a French dramatic crime film. The film centers on a chambermaid named Celestine who is on her first assignment in the country. She soon finds that the family she works for, the Monteils, are an odd family. The husband spends his time hunting animals and bedding women, the wife is cold and frigid, and their farm hand is a facist who is in love with Celestine. She is ready to quit until a child is found raped and murder. She stays on to prove that the farm hand is the murderer. What she finds is a lot more than she expected.
