Dirty Girl is a coming of age journey filled with slap stick humor tempered with tear jerking drama. Written and directed by Abe Sylvia, the film stars Juno Temple as Danielle Edmondston, a particularly promiscuous high school student. Dirty Girl is a literal and figurative journey of growth and centers around polarizing social issues like homophobia and parental abandonment. In fact, those two issues alone set Danielle off on a journey with her gay friend Clarke Walters, played by Jeremy Dozier. While Danielle's quest centers on finding her father, Clarke's revolves around finding himself and being comfortable with who he is. While the city of Fresno, the home of Danielle's biological father, is the ultimate destination, it is the imagery along the way that really endears the movie to its audience. From guest appearances by Nicholas D'Agosto as a somewhat gay hitch-hiker to provocative table top service at a gay biker bar, the adventures of Danielle and Clarke seem to go from absurd to crazy in only a matter of moments.
