The film the Drunken Master II is a action film that displays the art of kung fu by known other then karate master Jackie Chan. In this movie he plays a Chinese folk hero by the name of Wong Fei Hung. The movie was released in the United States under the title The Legend of Drunken Master. Whatever title the movie may be going by it is still one of the top one hundred films of all time named by Time magazine. The story is set in China. Wong Fei Hung is mad that he has to pay taxes on a shipment of ginseng that he is transporting for a client. He decides to hide it to avoid paying the tax. At a stop he sneaks into first class on the train to retrieve the package. He see a Manchurian office stealing a package that looks similar to his. Upon confrontation he is hit by the offices but is able to retrieve the package and goes after the office for revenge. The officer thinks that Wong Fei Hung is a henchman and they have a martial arts battle. Upon opening the package they realize they have grabbed the wrong one. When it is time to deliver the package Wong Fei Hung gives his client his father’s bonzai tree telling him it is really the ginseng. To wrong this right and to earn money to purchase real ginseng the Wong Fei Hung and his father and brother fight all of the henchman hired by the British crime organization. To help with the fight the family uses industrial alcohol. The Wong family is thanked by the Chinese generals for help stop the British crime way in China. Even though the fight was won not all has gone well for the family. When visiting Wong Fei Hung’s father they have found that he was injured in the battle. By consuming the industrial alcohol to win the fight he has become deaf, blind, and has many mental troubles. While he is a hero to many his family is saddened by the affects the battle has had on them.
