In the year 2017, the U.S. has enacted new laws restricting couples to having only one child. When John Henry Brennick and his wife Karen find themselves pregnant with a second child, they attempt to escape into Canada. While at the border, the couple is caught and Brennick is arrested while Karen escapes. He is sent to an underground prison that no one can escape. Brennick is also implanted with an Intestinator that can inflict pain or even death if he disobeys. When Brennick finds out Karen was captured, he attempts to free her and break free from the prison.
