Watch From Time to Time
From Time to Time is a fantasy drama film that was written by Lucy M. Boston. Directed by Julian Fellowes, the film features Alex Etel, Timothy Spall and Maggie Smith. The story revolves around a boy called Tolly Oldknow (played by Alex Etel) who is 13 years old. Since his father has been missing during WWII, he is sent off to go spend Christmas and the holidays at his grandmother's (played by Maggie Smith). The family home includes a lush mansion. Tolly's Grandmother regularly tells him many interesting stories about the history of the home that are quite exciting to him. Before very long, Tolly begins to see ghosts in his dreams and during the daytime, much to his dismay. He is confused by the ghosts but at the same time entranced by them. He is also learning a great deal about his ancestry so wants to continuing learning, despite being a bit scared by what is happening. Whenever Tolly encounters a ghost, he magically gets transported in time to 1805. There he sees ancestors engaged in many dramas that cause the mansion to be burned down. Captain Oldknow (played by Hugh Bonneville) has a companion called Jacob (played by Kwayedza Kureya), whom he freed from slavery. Maria, the Captain's reputation conscious wife played by Carice van Houten) and an aggressive son named Sefton (played by Douglas Booth) are none too pleased. As drama ensues, the Caxton, the housemaster (played by Dominic West) takes the opportunity to cause more trouble - much to everyone's chagrin. Grandmother Oldknow exposes critical pieces of information for Tolly to digest all along. His time traveling experiences directly relate to whatever she has told him. The story continues as Tolly discovers a mystery concerning stolen jewelry surround his ancestors. Sefton forces the young Jacob to climb and clean the chimney which is quite dangerous. There is also an escape from the mansion as it burns.
