This R rated semi biographical HBO original movie, directed by Robert Harmon, portrays the life and times of John Gotti, the infamous crime boss of the 1970s. From his beginnings in 1973 in Queens, New York, the "Daper Don" rose through the ranks of the Gambino crime family quickly. Gotti is played by Armand Assante, along with Anthony Quinn as Aniello Dellacroce and William Forsythe as Sammy " the bull" Gravano. This 1 hour and 44 minute movie details Gotti from street bum to soldier to captain and then head of the Gambino family. After the brutal murder of Paul Castallano, played by Richard Sarafin, the movie goes into detail about how the law finally took down the "Teflon Don." He was finally put away in 1992 with one charge of assault and two of racketeering.
