Stone Cold is a made for television film based on the Jesse Stone detective novels of fiction writer Robert B. Parker. The film is a American mystery drama and stars Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone, Jane Adams and Reg Rogers. All of the principal filming took place in Novia Scotia. The film is the first of a eight part series of films based on Parker's novels and centering around the Jesse Stone character. The films plot follows Stone, who is currently the chief of police in Paradise, Massachusetts, a little hamlet just north of Boston, U.S.A. Stone formerly worked as a homicide detective in the LAPD but resigned from the job due to a burgenoning alcoholism. He was only hired to his newest position as chief of police because the corrupt authorities though his drinking would make him easy to control, however, they were gravely mistaken. One day a body is found on the rock strewn shoreline and Jesse is called in. The vic was pumped twice with a 22, directly in the heart - the mark of a professional killer. Very soon another victim is found, same MO, still no suspect. And so Jesse begins a dark descent into the mind of a killer who might just be the most cold blooded one he's ever encountered.
