At reunions, sometimes it’s surprising to discover what some of your former high school classmates are up to. No one at Martin Blank’s high school reunion believes him at first when he tells them he’s become a hit man, though once his work follows him there, they have little choice. John Cusack stars as Martin in 1997’s Grosse Pointe Blank. He has recently become melancholy about his work, and his high school reunion becomes a crisis point as he considers whether or not he might be able to change the direction of his future. Meeting up with his former girlfriend Debi, he discovers just how horrified she is by what he does for a living. Then things get even more complicated when Martin discovers his next job actually involves someone important in Debi’s life, and that his rival, another hit man named Grocer, may get to the job first. Martin must decide whether to protect Debi’s loved ones or go back to his old life.
