Hellbound: Hellraiser II
- 1 hr 37 min
After the great success of the first Hellraiser film, directed by Clive Barker and based on his short story "The Hellbound Heart," Hellraiser II: Hellbound picks up almost right after the end of the first film. The plot starts with detectives talking to Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Lawrence) about the events that led to the collapse of her house and the death of her father and stepmother. Kirsty, still in shock, tells the detectives about the Lament Configuration and the alien entities called the Cenobites that they summon. The detectives, incredulous, hand Kirsty over to a psychiatric hospital, where she befriends a smitten assistant, Kyle, even though she's under the care of Dr. Phillip Channard. Kirsty comes to believe that her father is in hell and tells Kyle the story about what happened. Kyle goes to tell the doctor, but Channard already knows. In fact, he's chased the Lament Configuration for years, collecting stories and paraphanalia about it. Using a bloody mattress and a mental patient as a sacrifice, Channard resurrects a bloody Julia, Kirsty's stepmother, back from the realm of the Cenobites. Kirsty breaks out of the hospital with the help of Kyle, who is devoured by Julia to finish her regeneration. Using a mental patient gifted with puzzles, Channard summons the Cenobites. Channard, Kirsty, Julia and Tiffany, the mental patient, all find themselves sucked into the alien realm where these creatures come from. In the maze-realm of hell, Channard is turned into a Cenobite and empowered by Leviathan, the creator. He hunts Kirsty, who meanwhile finds her uncle Frank, who lured her there. Frank is killed by Julia, and Kirsty escapes. Kirsty and Tiffany escape to the real world and reveal that the Cenobites were once human. The creatures then try to protect the girls from Channard. As the two worlds start to merge, Channard is defeated, the box is closed, and the world is again safe.
