Lav Kush is a 1997 Indian historical drama film directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao. The film is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana and portrays the twins, Lav and Kush, who are the sons of Lord Rama and Sita. The film stars Jeetendra as Rama, Jaya Prada as Sita, and Arun Govil as both Lav and Kush. The supporting cast includes Raj Babbar, Shakti Kapoor, and Farida Jalal.

The story begins with the birth of Lav and Kush, who are sent by Sita to Valmiki's ashram to keep them safe from the conspiracies of the kingdom. They grow up in the ashram and are trained in various skills. One day, they meet Rama and his army while hunting in the forest. They are captured and brought to Rama's court.

Rama recognizes them as his sons and asks them to tell their story. They narrate their childhood and their training in the ashram. Rama is impressed by their skills and decides to take them to Ayodhya.

In Ayodhya, Lav and Kush get into a fight with Bharata's army, mistaking them for enemies. Rama intervenes and realizes that his sons are alive. He embraces them and takes them to Sita's palace.

Sita is happy to see her sons but the people of Ayodhya question her character because she had spent time alone in the ashram. Rama, unable to bear the criticism, sends Sita to the forest. Lav and Kush follow her and persuade her to return to Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, Ravan's brother, Vibhishan, comes to meet Rama and tells him about Ravan's atrocities. Rama decides to attack Lanka and defeat Ravan. Lav and Kush join the army and showcase their skills in the war.

After returning victorious from Lanka, Rama is reunites with Sita. However, he is hesitant to accept her as his wife due to the criticism he faced earlier. Lav and Kush then perform a play, depicting their parents' story and their love for each other. This moves Rama and he accepts Sita as his wife.

The film ends with Lav and Kush returning to the ashram, after requesting Rama to visit them once in a while.

Lav Kush received mixed reviews from critics, but was appreciated for its music and performances. The film's soundtrack was composed by Raam-Laxman and includes songs such as "Manohar Hai Paawan", "Nai Nai Bhav Se", and "Ramji Ki Chal Dekho". The film was also dubbed in Telugu with the same name.

Overall, Lav Kush is a well-made film that portrays the epic story of Ramayana in an interesting and engaging manner. It is a must-watch for fans of Indian mythology and historical dramas.
