Watch Monkey Trouble
- 1 hr 27 min
Young child Eva Gregory has long wished to have a pet of her very own, but between her mother's perception that Eva is not nearly responsible enough, her stepfather's allergy to fur, and her father being a pilot constantly away from home, there seems little chance that Eva will ever get the opportunity. Elsewhere in the world, a Capuchin monkey escapes from his sauced master, a gypsy and thief, named Azro. Azro blames all of his domestic problems on the monkey. The self-liberated Capuchin encounters Eva in a park, where she gives him the name of "Dodger." Having already given Dodger a name, Eva sneaks him into her house with only her toddler half-brother in on the secret. Eva takes Dodger with her everywhere she can manage, with Dodger sneaking food into Eva's backpack during a trip to the grocery store. While, Eva returns the food as soon as she notices Dodger's constant palming, she learns that the monkey also swiped several pieces of jewelry and wallets. Eva is determined to teach Dodger to stop lifting pockets. Azro's constant search for Dodger finally picks up when he sees Dodger at a pet store which Eva had been using as a kennel while attending classes at school. Azro reasserts himself with Dodger only to learn that Dodger will no longer steal. Furious, Azro confronts and kidnaps the girl while Eva's parents and the police are looking for her. Dodger manages to save Eva from Azro, with Eva's stepfather placing the gypsy under arrest. When Azro's son Mark tries to take Dodger back, Dodger refuses and winds up staying with Eva. This manages to be a happy arrangement after all, as Eva's mother is convinces that her daughter can be quite responsible when she needs to be and Eva's stepfather discovers that monkey fur is an insufficient trigger for his allergies.
