Jeremy, a British book editor is sent on an assignment that will change his life. He travels to Tuscany where he attempts to get writer Weldon Parrish to write another book. Parrish is known to be quarrelsome, and having a prolonged writer's block doesn't make him very happy to see the young editor on his doorstep. Over time, Jeremy works tenaciously to break down his resistance. Meanwhile, Jeremy also comes to care for one of Parrish's daughters, the lovely Isabella.
