This fascinating and dramatic motion picture tells a tale of greed, corruption, love, and betrayal. Stan Carlisle is a man who works at a carnival as a sideshow. He is the assistant of the great mind reading artist, Zeena Krumbein. Zeena and her alcoholic husband, Pete, have developed a secret means of communication which fools the audience into believing they are mind readers. Stan is absolutely fascinated with their ability to control and move audiences at their discretion. He becomes obsessed with trying to learn the secrets of Zeena and Pete, so that he may go off and begin a career as a successful mind reader.
