In the 1990 comedy movie, Nuns on the Run, British actors Eric Idle and Robbie Coltrane play two bumbling criminals named Charlie and Brian, respectively. The film also features Camille Coduri in a supporting role. Charlie and Brian are two small-time gangsters who have just successfully robbed a bank in London. However, their heist goes awry when they realize that their getaway driver has double-crossed them and taken off with their money. Desperate to avoid getting caught by the police and their gangster boss, the two decide to hide out in a local convent, dressed as nuns.

The two criminals quickly realize that life in a convent is not as easy as they thought it would be. They struggle to keep up with their new identities while also trying to figure out how to retrieve their stolen money. Along the way, they encounter a group of topless dancers, a group of overweight American tourists, and the strict Mother Superior, played by veteran British actress Janet Suzman.

Idle and Coltrane shine in their roles as the hapless criminals, delivering plenty of physical comedy and witty one-liners. Coduri also stands out as a waitress who gets caught up in the duo's schemes.

Nuns on the Run is notable for its use of British humor and for its clever twist on the classic convent setting. The film was directed by Jonathan Lynn, who had previously worked with Idle on a number of popular British TV shows, including Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Overall, Nuns on the Run is a lighthearted and entertaining comedy that showcases the talents of its talented cast. It may not be a groundbreaking film, but it delivers plenty of laughs and serves as an excellent example of classic British humor.
