"Parasite" is a horror film from 1981. An atomic disaster has obliterated the world's economy, with America's government being reduced to domination by the exploitative "Merchants." The Merchants coerce Dr. Dean into engineering a new type of parasite. Fearing the catastrophic outcome, Dean flees with his creation, infecting himself during the chase. Dean uses his time in seclusion to examine the parasite's behavior so that he may end it. While holing up in a desert village, Dean is assaulted by a gang for the silver canister they notice on his person; the same container Dean keeps the source parasite within.
