Private Benjamin

Starring Goldie Hawn, Eileen Brennan and Armand Assante, Private Benjamin is a touching army comedy about life, love and self-discovery. After the death of her newlywed husband on their wedding night Judy Benjamin (Hawn), a wealthy young socialite feels lost and joins the army with the help of a shifty recruiting sergeant who tricks her into believing that the army consists of travel, private rooms and luxuries. Boot camp serves as a horrifying wake up call for her and she is desperate to quit only finding that she isn't allowed to. At the mercy of her merciless Captain (Brennan) she tries to make the best of her situation and meets the handsome French doctor Tremont (Assante). After a romance and difficulties they reunite in Belgium but due to his communist beliefs Judy is made to choose between her career and Dr. Tremont. She chooses marriage but finds it and her new husband are not all they seem to be and once again she must choose and find if she can stand on her own.
