The movie opens with Purnima, an orphan, living a happy life with her uncle, aunt, and cousin. Her uncle and aunt have raised her like their own daughter, but Purnima's life takes a turn when her cousin, Raghu, is diagnosed with a serious illness. The family is unable to afford the treatment, and Purnima is forced to make the difficult decision to sell herself to a wealthy businessman, Amar, played by Dharmendra, in exchange for money to pay for Raghu's treatment.

Amar, on the other hand, has his own problems. He is a wealthy businessman who is deeply unhappy with his life and is looking for something more meaningful. When he meets Purnima and learns of her situation, he sees an opportunity to do some good in the world and helps her out.

As Purnima and Amar spend more time together, they start to develop feelings for each other. But their romance is cut short when Amar's father, played by Mehmood, discovers the truth about Purnima and her past. He forbids Amar from seeing Purnima and arranges for her to marry someone else.
