The Boxer and the Bombshell is an Australian mystery and crime drama film. The film was originally called the Tender Hook. It was renamed to The Boxer and the Bombshell for North American theaters. The film takes place in the 1920's in the city of Sydney. During this time period the city of Sydney had a thriving underground boxing world that was filled with crime and gambling. The Boxer and the Bombshell follows the lives of three characters who become intertwined in Sydney's vast and unforgiving underground boxing world. Iris is the female lead character in the movie who becomes romantically involved with a kingpin and later a young boxer that rapidly rises in the ranks of Sydney's underground boxing world.
