The 1975 production of 'The Hindenburg" recounts an awful disaster originally occurring in 1937 that involved the explosion of the German passenger airship, the Hindenburg. Starring George C. Scott, Anne Bancroft and William Atherton, the film gives a speculative theory of the events involved in this horrible tragedy. In the movie, the Hindenburg disaster is portrayed as one that was cleverly orchestrated by a conspiracy group known as the Zeppelins. While this perspective is certainly one of great interest and intrigue, no historical evidence has been produced that suggests the possibility of the work of these conspirators.

The film centers around the possibility of the character Boerth's planned destruction of the airship. Though there is no way to prove or disprove the film's claim of sabotage, "The Hindenburg" remains a suspenseful thriller that leaves the audience wondering what the true cause of 1937 explosion was.
