Zandalee is a romantic tragedy as well as an erotic thriller directed by Sam Pillsbury. All of Zandalee's filming was done entirely in New Orleans. The film has several notable actors starring in it, including Nicolas Cage, Marisa Tomei, and Steve Buscemi. Although it played in the theaters of some countries, the film only received a straight-to-video release in the United States of America. The titular Zandalee is unsatisfied with her marriage to Thierry Martin. Eventually she winds up in a manic, lush affair with Johnny Collin, an old friend of her husband with a mysterious past. Zandalee and Thierry's marriage seems to have hit a snag and is collapsing around them both. While Zandalee wants to explore things, Thierry only becomes more distant. While Thierry uses to regularly write poetry, now his life is occupied with his family business in communications. As time progresses, Thierry must sell the business, becoming a figurehead of a vice president. As his life's ambitions sink, he becomes disillusioned with life. Soon the audience is introduced to Johnny Collins, an employee for Thierry's business in order to support his skill as a painter. Johnny is a self-indulgent hedonist who senses Zandalee's dissatisfaction and weaknesses, moving in to seduce her. The trysts between these two occur in various places, with Thierry soon becoming suspicious of Zandalee's loyalty to their marriage. Indeed, he senses that Zandalee is having an affair with Johnny. As Johnny's and Zandalee's emotions and feelings intensify, Johnny demands that Zandalee forsake her husband and to get a divorce. Zandalee confesses that her heart has always belonged to Thierry and then ends her affair with Johnny. While Zandalee and Thierry reconnect as lovers and husband and wife, Johnny refuses to let go of Zandalee and tracks the lovers to a vacation spot within the Louisiana bayou. Only tragedy ensues when the three individuals meet in the same place.
