Watch 40 Under 40

This series introduces you to who the Smithsonian American Art Museum considers the 40 best art and craftspeople under the age of 40. You'll see the traditional and the not so traditional forms of art. One of the highlights features an artist,Melanie Bilenker, who created a portrait out of human hair. You will see 3D art, sculptures made from pennies, and more. This series was created to celebrate the Smithsonian's 40th anniversary of its Renwick Gallery. A major endeavor was from an artist who calls herself Olek. Instead of wallpaper, she put crocheted art on the wall, including holes for the windows.
