Ep 4. Harlem's Renaissance Man

In the fourth episode of the first season of the show, titled "Harlem's Renaissance Man," the audience is introduced to a new character, Richard, who is a man from the 1930s. Richard has been missing for over 70 years and suddenly appears in Harlem, with no memory of how he got there. The 4400 team is called in to investigate and to help Richard, who starts to realize that he has special abilities.

As the episode progresses, the team comes to understand that Richard is a writer who made a deal with a suspicious publisher to gain success in his artistic pursuits. The publisher is revealed to be from the future and had the power to transport Richard into the future to manipulate his work. However, Richard is eventually returned to his own time, where he goes on to become the famous writer he was always meant to be.

Meanwhile, Tom and Diana consider what to do about their developing romantic feelings for one another, while also trying to figure out how to identify and protect the 4400 who are vulnerable to attack from the hostile government organization NTAC. The ongoing mystery of the 4400's disappearance and reappearance continues to unfold, leaving audiences eager for more.
