Ai Tenchi Muyo is a Japanese anime series that premiered in 2014. The show is a reboot of the 1992 series Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki and follows the same premise of a young boy named Tenchi Masaki living in a house with a group of beautiful girls with supernatural abilities.

The story starts with Tenchi returning to his hometown after years of studying abroad. He soon discovers that his old school has become a battleground for three rival factions fighting for control of the academy. In order to restore peace, Tenchi offers to become the new teacher and creates a student council with representatives from each faction.

As the story progresses, each of the girls living in Tenchi's house is introduced. There is Ryoko, a former space pirate who is fiercely loyal to Tenchi; Ayeka, a princess from a distant planet who has a crush on Tenchi and is constantly fighting with Ryoko; Sasami, Ayeka's younger sister who is a skilled cook and has a playful personality; Mihoshi, a clumsy officer of the Galaxy Police who crashes on Earth and stays with the group; and Washu, a brilliant scientist and Tenchi's grandmother figure who is always tinkering in her lab.

The show is a mix of comedy, romance, and action. The humor comes from the interactions between the characters and their unique personalities. For example, Ryoko is very sarcastic and quick-witted, while Mihoshi is oblivious to everything around her. The romance aspect comes from the various love interests present in the show. Ayeka and Ryoko both have feelings for Tenchi, and the other girls also show interest in him throughout the series. The action comes from the battles between the rival factions and the girls' supernatural abilities.

One unique aspect of the show is the use of mecha. Each faction has their own giant robot that they use in battle, and the series features several mecha fights. The mecha designs are very imaginative and add a sci-fi element to the show.
