In the second episode of Better Call Saul's first season titled "Mijo," we continue to follow the journey of Jimmy McGill, a struggling lawyer with a past. The episode begins with Jimmy making his way to the scene of a drug bust, only to find out that it involves two of his clients. As the story progresses, we learn more about the complex relationships between the characters and their past, including how the situation may have been caused by Jimmy.

The episode's title, "Mijo," comes from the Spanish word for "my son," a term used between family members. This episode focuses heavily on family relationships, particularly between Jimmy and his brother Chuck. The viewer is given a glimpse into the brothers' past, which is not all sunshine and rainbows. Chuck, a successful and highly respected lawyer, is struggling with a mysterious illness, leaving Jimmy to fend for himself.

The episode is filled with tension, and the stakes are high. Jimmy must do all he can to help his clients and avoid getting caught up in the dangerous world of drugs and organized crime. The plot is driven by Jimmy's desire to prove his worth to his clients and his brother, as well as his attempt to stay out of trouble while doing so.

As the episode progresses, Jimmy becomes embroiled in the seedy underworld of drug dealing and the Mexican cartel. It is clear that he is in over his head, but he is determined to do everything he can to protect his clients from harm. Along the way, he finds himself caught in dangerous and unpredictable situations, constantly in fear for his life.

The episode's pacing is excellent, with each scene building on the last and leading to a satisfying conclusion. The episode's themes are prevalent throughout, with a focus on the struggle for power and respect between family members. By the time the credits roll, the viewer is left wanting more and eager to see what happens next.

In terms of acting, the cast is outstanding. Bob Odenkirk shines as Jimmy, perfectly embodying the character's mix of wit, charm, and vulnerability. Jonathan Banks, as the tough but fair Mike Ehrmantraut, is equally impressive. Rhea Seehorn, as Kim Wexler, brings a sense of warmth and groundedness to the show, while Michael Mando, as Nacho, a member of the drug cartel, is both menacing and sympathetic.

The cinematography and direction are also noteworthy. The show has a distinctly cinematic feel, with beautiful shots of Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. The camera work is excellent, with each shot adding to the mood and atmosphere of the episode.

Overall, "Mijo" is an excellent episode of Better Call Saul. It builds on the strong foundation of the first episode and establishes the tone and themes of the show. The acting, direction, and cinematography are all top-notch, and the story will have viewers on the edge of their seats. It is a must-watch for fans of the show and a great entry point for new viewers.
