Jimmy McGill continues to navigate the murky legal waters of Albuquerque in the second episode of Better Call Saul season 3, titled "Witness." As the fallout from his legal screw-up with the Sandpiper case reverberates through his personal and professional life, Jimmy becomes increasingly desperate to drum up new business and regain his lost reputation.
Meanwhile, Mike Ehrmantraut finds himself embroiled in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with his mysterious and elusive surveillance target. As he tries to uncover the truth behind the man's secretive activities, Mike must also contend with the ever-present threat of the cartel and their shadowy operatives.
The two storylines intersect in unexpected ways as Jimmy and Mike's paths cross once again, leading to a tense and gripping confrontation between the two characters. Along the way, viewers are treated to a deep exploration of the show's richly-drawn world, from the seedy underbelly of the criminal underworld to the ins and outs of the legal profession.
As always, the show's intricate plotting and nuanced character development are on full display in "Witness," as the writers continue to peel back the layers of their complex and compelling characters. Fans of Breaking Bad will also find plenty to love here, as the show continues to provide sly nods and references to its predecessor while blazing a trail all its own.
But perhaps most impressive about this episode is the expert way it balances tension and humor, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments alongside some truly nail-biting scenes. Whether you're a die-hard Saul fan or just looking for a great hour of TV, "Witness" is not to be missed.
