Jefferson Pierce, better known as Black Lightning, is still reeling from the events of the previous episode. Along with his team, he must work to prevent the war brewing between the Metas and the government from exploding into all-out chaos. Meanwhile, the A.S.A. continues to tighten its grip on the city, and the family of Jefferson's ex-wife, Lynn, begins to unravel under the weight of its own secrets.

As tensions escalate, Jefferson must put aside his personal feelings and work with his estranged father, Alvin Pierce, who has been manipulating events from behind the scenes. With the help of Alvin's vast knowledge and connections, the group makes headway in their quest to uncover the truth behind the A.S.A.'s nefarious plans.

However, success comes with a heavy price. The team will have to learn to navigate the murky waters of politics and power, all while facing some of their toughest challenges yet. From rogue Metas who seek to take down the government by any means necessary, to the A.S.A.'s own insidious agents, the stakes have never been higher for Black Lightning and his allies.

Meanwhile, Jefferson's daughters, Anissa and Jennifer, struggle to come to terms with their own powers and their place in the fight.
