Brojects Season 3 Episode 3 Ultimate Outdoor Bedroom
- November 6, 2015
Brojects is a hit DIY show where brothers Kevin and Andrew Buckles get creative with outdoor projects at their lakeside cottage. In season 3 episode 3, the brothers take on the ultimate challenge: transforming a screened-in porch into an outdoor bedroom.
The episode kicks off with Kevin and Andrew surveying the porch and discussing their vision for the space. They envision a cozy retreat that's perfect for napping, reading, and hanging out with friends. But before they can get started on the fun stuff, they have to do some serious decluttering. The porch is loaded with old furniture, random knick-knacks, and piles of junk that have accumulated over the years.
Once the porch is cleared out, the brothers set to work on the design. They've come up with a plan to build a custom bed that will fit perfectly into the space. To get started, they head to the lumberyard to pick up supplies and get to work cutting and sanding the wood.
Building the bed turns out to be a bit more challenging than they anticipated, but the brothers are determined to make it work. They measure and remeasure, adjust and readjust until the bed frame is just right. Next, they add the mattress, pillows, and blankets to create a comfy sleeping nook.
With the bed in place, the brothers turn their attention to the decor. They want to create a vibe that's relaxed and inviting, so they choose earthy neutrals for the bedding and add plenty of throw pillows and blankets. They also hang string lights around the space to create a cozy ambiance.
One of the biggest challenges of the project is figuring out how to keep bugs at bay. Since the porch is screened in, the brothers don't have to worry about mosquitoes, but flies and other insects could still be a problem. To solve this, they install a bug zapper and add citronella candles to the space.
But the ultimate challenge comes when the brothers decide to add a TV to the space. They want to be able to watch movies and sports games from the comfort of their outdoor bedroom, but they need to figure out how to do it without relying on an extension cord that runs inside the house. After some brainstorming, they come up with an ingenious solution: they'll use a battery-powered projector to cast the TV image onto the wall. It's a bit of a hack, but it works like a charm.
In the end, Kevin and Andrew are thrilled with the end result. The outdoor bedroom is the perfect spot for lazy summer days and cozy evenings with friends. It's a testament to their creativity and ingenuity, and a perfect example of why Brojects is such a beloved DIY show.
