Ep 3. Vacation

Kat is a quirky and independent 39-year-old woman who quits her job as a math professor to open a cat cafe in Louisville, Kentucky. In the third episode, titled Vacation, Kat is feeling the burnout of running her business and decides to take a much-needed vacation. However, her old college roommate and best friend, Jennifer, unexpectedly shows up at the cafe and convinces Kat to let her stay with her for a few days.

With Jennifer in town, Kat struggles to maintain a balance between her need for rest and relaxation and the demands of her friend's high-energy personality. Jennifer is excited to explore the city and see the sights, but Kat just wants some peace and quiet. Jennifer even invites herself to stay with Kat overnight in her apartment above the cafe, causing Kat to feel even more overwhelmed.

At the same time, Kat's employee, Randi, is trying to convince her to let her take over the cafe for a few days so she can have a vacation too. Kat is hesitant to give up control, but eventually agrees to let Randi run the cafe for a week while she's gone.

While Jennifer is in town, she and Kat run into a former college classmate, Trevor, who Jennifer had a crush on in school. Jennifer begs Kat to set them up on a date, but Kat is worried about the awkwardness that could arise if things don't work out. Eventually, Kat reluctantly agrees to facilitate the date, but things don't go quite as planned.

The episode also sees Kat trying to reconnect with her former crush, Max, who is now a successful businessman with a girlfriend. Kat invites Max to the cafe to catch up, but she quickly realizes that her feelings for him are still as strong as ever, which leads to some awkward moments.
