After the rigors of addiction treatment, the day to day struggle to remain sober gets the celebrity treatment in VH1's Sober House. The reality program follows the star patients from Celebrity Rehab during 30 days of group living in a Hollywood hilltop mansion, while under the guidance of Jennifer Gimenez, a house manager who has conquered her own addiction, and drug counselor Bob Forrest, who also participated in their treatment regimen during Celebrity Rehab. The show underscores the reality that the real work of sobriety involves staying clean every hour and every day.

During the first season, Sober House followed comedian Andy Dick, porn star Marey Carey, musicians Steve Adler and Seth Binzer, as well as other graduates of Drew Pinky's treatment as they struggle to develop the necessary life skills to function without drugs and alcohol. The residents must also make plans for a sober future, such as changing careers and avoiding people and places that will tempt them to relapse. The Sober House staff gives the residents tasks such as working ordinary jobs, hosting a dinner party and continuing therapy sessions to help them adjust to a new lifestyle. Many of the recovering addicts do fall back into drinking, drugging or risky behavior, which gives Sober House many dramatic and gritty moments to demonstrate the severity of alcohol and drug addiction.

During the second season, Sober House expanded to include celebrities from both the third season of Celebrity Rehab and Sex Rehab. NBA star Dennis Rodman, Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, former couple Heidi Fleiss, best known as the Hollywood Madam, and actor Tom Sizemore. The former romantic relationship between Fleiss and Sizemore ended in an assault and battery conviction for Sizemore, and remains an ongoing conflict at the Sober House during their 30-day stay. House Manager Gimenez must also contend with the violent and rebellious behavior of Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche and the relapsing Mike Starr.

Celebrity Rehab Presents: Sober House offers a weekly follow-up on the difficult, daily struggle to remain sober after a severe addiction to drugs, alcohol or risky behavior. Each 60-minute episode shows that even Hollywood fame and opportunity do not ease the difficulty of sobriety.
