Chrono Crusade is a fantastic anime series. The series first aired on November 25, 2003, and continued until June 10, 2004, with a total of 24 episodes. The series is set in the United States during the year 1928, and it follows two exorcists, Sister Rosette Christopher and Chrno. Together, they are the Chrono Crusaders, and they are tasked with exorcising demons and other creatures of the night.
In season 1 episode 1, "Pilot," we are introduced to Sister Rosette and Chrno. The episode begins with a scene of fire and destruction as a demon runs rampant in New York City. Sister Rosette and her partner, Azmaria, are on the scene, and they quickly realize that they are outmatched. Sister Rosette calls for backup, and that's when Chrno arrives.
Chrno is a demon who has made a pact with Sister Rosette, and together, they are a formidable force. Chrno has the ability to transform into various shapes and forms, and he is incredibly strong. Sister Rosette is armed with a variety of weapons, including her trusty handgun and a rosary that she can use to bind demons.
As soon as Chrno arrives on the scene, he and Sister Rosette quickly assess the situation. They realize that the demon they are dealing with is no ordinary demon, and they are going to need a special weapon to defeat it. That's when Father Ewan Remington arrives.
Father Remington is a high-ranking exorcist and the head of the Order of Magdalene. He has brought with him a special weapon, a rocket launcher, that he believes will be able to take down the demon. Sister Rosette, Chrno, and Father Remington work together to take down the demon, and after a fierce battle, they emerge victorious.
After the demon has been defeated, Father Remington explains to Sister Rosette and Chrno that there has been a recent increase in demonic activity, and that they are going to need to be on high alert. He also tells them that there is a rumor that a powerful demon, Aion, has returned to Earth. Aion is a demon that Chrno knows all too well, and his return could mean trouble for the Chrono Crusaders.
As the episode comes to a close, we see Sister Rosette and Chrno driving through the city. Sister Rosette is excited to be back on the job and ready for whatever comes their way. Chrno, on the other hand, seems distant and contemplative. We learn that he is haunted by his past, and he is worried about Aion's return.
Overall, the first episode of Chrono Crusade, "Pilot," is an exciting and action-packed start to the series. It introduces us to the main characters and sets the stage for the coming episodes. It also gives viewers a taste of the type of demons and battles that Sister Rosette and Chrno will be facing in their quest to save humanity.
