The premise of Close Enough is that a couple and their five-year-old daughter share a house with their married friends who have a baby. The show is an animated comedy that delves into the experience of being in your 30s and balancing responsibilities with trying to maintain the joy of youth. In season 1 episode 6, entitled 100% No Stress Day, the main couple, Josh and Emily, attempt to have a relaxing day at home without any stress. They decide to take a break from their daily lives and enjoy a day of leisure. However, things didn't go exactly according to plan.

Josh wakes up with a rash on his face and is anxious about it, believing that he may have contracted something contagious while at the gym. He is worried that his daughter Candice may also get infected. In order to avoid any stress, Emily decides to lock the family in the apartment and declares it a "no stress day." Emily's best friend Alex and his wife Bridgette join them later and suggest they play a board game. Emily is hesitant at first, knowing that competitive board games have always led to arguments among the group but eventually agrees.

As they start playing, Emily's competitive nature takes over and she becomes increasingly aggressive towards Alex, going as far as to knock the board over in frustration. Josh starts feeling overwhelmed by the situation and asks to be excused for a moment. While in the bathroom, he discovers that his rash is from a new face cream he had been using, making him relieved he is not contagious. However, as he exits the bathroom, he accidentally breaks a vase, further increasing the tension between the friends.

Later on, Emily tries to cook dinner, but the oven is broken, so she ordered pizza instead. Meanwhile, Bridgette and Alex begin talking about their marriage and how they're struggling with having a new baby, leading to more tension. As the evening progresses, Josh starts freaking out that their no-stress-day is not going as planned. He attempts to get everyone to calm down and just enjoy the night while they still have it, as the entire group takes their stress out on each other. By the end of the episode, they must try to find a way to make peace between them all, or risk completely breaking their relationships apart.

Close Enough has received praise for its realistic portrayal of adult relationships and how they can become strained as people age and face new challenges in life. In this episode, the writers explore the nature of stress and how it can be difficult to eliminate it even on a day designated for relaxation. Additionally, the episode highlights how small issues can often build up and create tension between friends even when they're trying their best to enjoy each other's company. Overall, this episode offers a great example of the ensemble cast working together in trying to solving their problems while still maintaining their relationships.
