Coronation Street Season 60 Episode 204 Mon, Aug 26, 2019, Part 1

The episode begins with David and Shona still coming to terms with their recent break up. They both struggle to communicate their feelings as they dance around each other awkwardly. Over at the Bistro, Alya is busy preparing for the upcoming food critics visit when she receives a call from the police informing her that her grandmother Yasmeen has been arrested. Alya rushes to the police station to find out what has happened. She discovers that Geoff had reported Yasmeen to the police for assault after she hit him over the head with a wine bottle in a moment of desperation. Alya is shocked and angry and vows to get to the bottom of what is really going on between Geoff and Yasmeen.

Meanwhile, Steve and Tracy are preparing for their wedding. Tracy is on a mission to make everything perfect, but her plans are thwarted when she discovers that their wedding cake has been damaged in transit. Steve tries to reassure her that everything will be okay and they set off to find a replacement cake.

Elsewhere on the street, Seb is still reeling from Alina's sudden departure and turns to Emma for comfort. Emma is all too happy to oblige and the two share a tender moment before Seb heads off to work. Later, Emma receives a text from Seb but is shocked to discover that it's actually from Alina. Alina tells Emma that she has returned to the UK and wants to meet with Seb to explain everything.

In the Rovers, Johnny and Jenny are still trying to come to terms with the fact that they have a long lost daughter, but their attempts to locate her are proving difficult. In an emotional scene, Johnny admits that he has been wracked with guilt over abandoning his daughter and that he would do anything to make amends.

As the episode draws to a close, tensions are running high as Alya confronts Geoff about his treatment of Yasmeen. Geoff denies any wrongdoing and insists that Yasmeen is unstable and needs help. Alya is unconvinced and demands that Geoff stay away from her grandmother.
