The residents wonder why Elsie has been taken by the police. The police tell her Steve was found at the foot of his stairs. She realises they suspect foul play. Dot is shocked that Greg is not bothered about Steve's death. The police take Elsie's finger prints when she tells them how she refused to return to Steve. They then release her, but she realises that they think she is involved.
