As the episode progresses, the crew discovers that Pierrot Le Fou has been sent by someone to kill them, and he is a very dangerous assassin. Spike is heavily injured by Pierrot, and the rest of the crew tries to stop him. He killed so many people, even the dolls created by the dollmaker, who comes out and joins the fight, only to be killed by Pierrot as well.

The real danger of Pierrot is that he outwardly portrays himself as a comical, almost charismatic clown who loves to perform for an audience. The reason why he was sent to kill the Bebop crew was because he was promised a procedure that would remove all of his negative emotions, in exchange for completing this task. Throughout the episode, there are many flashbacks and dream-like sequences that give the viewer a glimpse into Pierrot's past, which explain why he is the way he is.
