Cowboy Builders (UK) Season 1 Episode 2 Bath
- January 15, 2009
In season 1 episode 2 of the British reality TV show Cowboy Builders, the team heads to Bath to help a family who have been living in a dilapidated house for over 20 years. The house is in desperate need of renovation and every room is in a terrible state.
The team is led by presenter Dominic Littlewood, who, with his team of builders and skilled tradespeople, aims to transform the home from a run-down disaster into a beautiful and functional living space. The team meets with the homeowners to learn more about their living situation and the problems they have been facing with their home.
The living room, kitchen, and bathroom are all in need of work, but the team decides to start with the bathroom first. The bathroom is in such disrepair that the family hasn’t used it in two years. The team starts by removing the old fixtures – the sink, the bathtub, and the toilet. They then begin to strip the floor and wall tiles, discovering a host of problems along the way. There is a leak behind the wall, and the previous builders had simply covered it up rather than fixing it properly.
The team has to bring in a plumber to fix the leak, and then they begin to tackle the walls and floor. They discover that the shower is installed incorrectly, which has resulted in rotting wood and mold. The team removes the rotten wood and installs new insulation and plasterboard. They also fix the shower so that it is correctly installed and won’t cause any more water damage in the future.
Once the major problems in the bathroom have been solved, the team begins to focus on the cosmetic aspects of the room. They install new floor tiles in a lovely neutral color, and add new fixtures and fittings. The team chooses a modern and stylish aesthetic for the bathroom, with a simple white and gray color scheme. The family is thrilled with the finished product – the bathroom looks like it has come out of a magazine, and they are delighted to finally have a functioning bathroom in their home.
With the bathroom complete, the team moves on to other areas of the house. They focus on the living room, which is currently dark, dingy, and cramped. The team wants to create a brighter, more spacious and welcoming living room for the family to enjoy. They remove the old fireplace and install a brand new one, which becomes the centerpiece of the room.
The team then addresses the problem of the room being too dark by removing the old, heavy curtains and replacing them with new ones that allow more light in. They also paint the walls in a light color, which helps to brighten up the space even more. The team adds some new furniture, including a comfortable sofa and chairs, and some modern artwork to give the room a fresh, contemporary feel.
The final result is a stunning living room that is warm, inviting, and the perfect place for the family to relax. With the bathroom and living room complete, the team moves on to the kitchen, which is in desperate need of a makeover. The kitchen is cramped, outdated, and in need of new appliances and fixtures.
The team strips the kitchen bare and starts from scratch, installing new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. They choose a classic and timeless design with white cabinets and black countertops, which gives the kitchen a modern and stylish feel. They also add new lighting, which makes the space brighter and more welcoming.
The family is overjoyed with the results, and cannot believe the transformation that their home has undergone. They finally have a functional and beautiful house that they can be proud of, and they are grateful to the team for their hard work and dedication. In this episode, the Cowboy Builders team has truly lived up to their name, rescuing a home in desperate need of renovation and turning it into a stunning living space.
