In the sixth episode of the first season of Cromartie High School, titled "The Empire of Ambition," we see the gang at Cromartie High embark on their newest adventure. This time, it's centered around ambition and achieving one's goals.
The episode begins with a shot of a group of students gathered around a large poster, which is advertising a new contest called the "Student Council President Election." The poster promises an incredible reward to the winner: a chance to rule over the school with complete authority. This catches the attention of the show's protagonist, Takashi Kamiyama, who decides that he'll take part in the election and win the title of Student Council President. However, since he has no experience in politics, he begins to do some research and preparation.
Meanwhile, the school's delinquents are up to their usual hijinks. A group of tough-looking students are gathered outside, and they're surprised when they see a small, timid-looking boy walking up to them. This boy is later revealed to be a genius when it comes to math and science, and he's been studying to enter the country's top engineering school. The delinquents decide to mess around with him, but he's so focused on his studies that he doesn't even notice them. This earns him a lot of respect from the gang, who believe that he's the embodiment of ambition and hard work.
Back in the election, Kamiyama is working hard to gather votes. He's busy attending study groups and meeting with various groups of students, trying to win them over to his side. We also get to see some of the other candidates in the election, including a popular girl named Akira Maeda and a boy with a punk hairdo named Shinichi Mechazawa. They all have their own unique quirks and personalities, and they each bring something different to the table in the race for Student Council President.
As the election heats up, the delinquents decide that they want to get involved. They form their own gang and start trying to rally support for a candidate, but they can't seem to agree on who they should endorse. One member of the group, a tough-looking guy named Ishiyama, is particularly determined to win the election. He thinks that he has what it takes to be Student Council President, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to get there.
Throughout the episode, we see different characters grappling with their own ambitions and desires. Kamiyama wants to win the election because he believes that he can make a positive change at the school. Maeda wants to win because she sees it as a stepping stone to becoming an actress. The delinquents want to win because they see it as a way to exert their power and influence over their peers. And the math prodigy wants to win because he wants to achieve his dream of becoming an engineer.
In the end, the election results are revealed, and the winner is a bit of a surprise. I won't give away any spoilers, but I will say that the outcome is both funny and satisfying. As usual, the show's sense of humor is on full display throughout the episode, with lots of great one-liners and visual gags. But at its core, the episode is a reflection on the importance of ambition and the drive to achieve one's goals. Whether you're a genius mathematician or a tatted-up delinquent, everyone has their own dreams and aspirations, and this episode shows that it's never too late to pursue them.
