Ep 5. Interior Decorator

In season 1 episode 5 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, titled "Interior Decorator," Larry David decides to hire an interior decorator to help him redecorate his house. However, things don't go as smoothly as he hopes.

The episode begins with Larry admiring his friend, Jeff's, newly redecorated house. Jeff introduces him to his interior decorator, Diane, who immediately catches Larry's interest. He asks her to redecorate his house as well and she agrees, but only under certain conditions. Meanwhile, Larry's wife, Cheryl, becomes obsessed with figuring out what model of car her friend's new boyfriend drives, leading her to harass him with questions every time they run into him. This subplot culminates in an awkward confrontation at a party that leaves everyone feeling uncomfortable.

Larry's frustration with Diane reaches a boiling point when she suggests he replace his precious stained glass window to install a set of costly silk screens. After an argument, he decides to fire her. However, she refuses to go without receiving full payment for her services.

As Larry struggles to find a solution, he receives an offer from Jeff to buy his beloved leather recliner and pool table. In the end, Larry agrees to sell Jeff his furniture, uses the funds to pay for Diane's services, and decides that he's done with interior decorating altogether.

Overall, the episode showcases Larry's struggles with pleasing both himself and his opinionated decorator, as well as Cheryl's hilarious and awkward behavior.
