They decide to trick Greenback into thinking that the device has malfunctioned, causing the sun to turn back to its natural color. The plan works, and Greenback is once again thwarted by Danger Mouse and Penfold.
The episode ends with Danger Mouse and Penfold receiving a hero's welcome back at headquarters, where they are commended for their bravery and ingenuity. As always, Danger Mouse modestly deflects the praise, knowing that he is simply doing his duty as a secret agent.
