Ep 5. Surrender

In Deep State season 2 episode 5, titled "Surrender," we see the aftermath of the bombing that killed Amin Al-Qadi. Harry and Leyla are both badly injured but manage to flee the scene before being captured by the Chechen rebels who are seeking revenge on Harry for killing their leader. This leads them on a dangerous mission to find a way to escape the Chechens and make it back to London.

Meanwhile, Donovan is back in London and working closely with the Prime Minister to cover up the true reason behind the bombing. As he delves deeper into the conspiracy, he realizes that there is much more at play than he originally thought. While he tries to protect the Prime Minister and his own interests, he is forced to confront the reality of what he's involved in and whether or not he can continue to justify his actions.

As for Amin's successor, El-Masri, we learn more about his true motives and the lengths he is willing to go to in order to gain power. With Harry out of the picture, El-Masri sees an opportunity to take control of the region and is willing to work with the CIA to achieve his goals.

Throughout the episode, we see the different characters struggle with their own motivations and the consequences of their actions. Harry and Leyla are forced to put their lives on the line in order to survive, while Donovan grapples with the morality of his actions. El-Masri continues to be a mystery, with his true intentions slowly being revealed.

As the season continues, it becomes clear that no one can be trusted and alliances are constantly shifting. The stakes are higher than ever and the characters must decide what they are willing to do in order to achieve their goals. Will they be able to come out on top, or will they fall victim to the deep state? Only time will tell.
