- May 1, 2020
Andy Barber is trying to keep his life together even as it falls apart in the wake of his son, Jacob, being charged with murder. As he deals with the fallout from his son's arrest and the media attention it's garnered, he's also struggling to keep up appearances at work and in his personal life.
In episode 4, tensions continue to mount as the trial approaches. Jacob's defense team, led by Joanna Klein, is working hard to prepare their case, while the prosecutor, Neal Loguidice, is determined to prove Jacob's guilt. Meanwhile, Andy is feeling increasingly isolated as his friends and colleagues begin to distance themselves from him and his family.
As the trial draws near, Andy starts to worry that his son may be withholding important information that could help his case. He decides to take matters into his own hands and begins investigating on his own. This leads him down a dangerous path as he uncovers secrets that suggest Jacob may be more involved in the murder than he initially let on.
At the same time, Andy's wife, Laurie, is struggling to cope with the stress of the trial and the strain it's put on their family. She begins to question her own role in the situation and starts to wonder if she could have prevented all of this from happening.
As the trial gets underway, tensions between the defense and the prosecution continue to escalate. Both sides present compelling arguments and evidence, leaving the jury to try and decide who is telling the truth.
In the end, the verdict shocks everyone involved and leaves Andy struggling to come to terms with the outcome. As the season progresses, he begins to learn more about the events leading up to the murder and is forced to confront some harsh truths about himself and his family.
