Ep 4. Episode 4

In the fourth episode of Detectorists season 1, we see Lance and Andy continue their search for treasure in the English countryside. Lance is feeling ambitious and sets his sights on a nearby field, but Andy reminds him that they do not have permission to metal detect there.

Meanwhile, Sophie, a fellow detectorist and love interest of Lance, makes an appearance. She encourages Lance to enter a metal detecting competition, but Lance is hesitant as he feels unprepared and intimidated by the other contestants. However, Andy convinces him to compete and even offers to partner up with him.

At the competition, tensions rise as Lance and Andy struggle to find any valuable items while the other contestants seem to have much more luck. To make matters worse, Andy's ex-girlfriend shows up, causing awkwardness between the two.

Despite these challenges, Lance and Andy continue their search and stumble upon a significant discovery that could change their luck and reputation as detectorists forever.
